Project under development

Cal Bertranet is an 18th-century farmhouse located in the agricultural and wooded landscape of Olèrdola, a protected setting where the rural architecture of the Penedès region maintains a clear identity, deeply connected to the territory.

The project proposes a comprehensive refurbishment of the complex to transform it into a 20-bed rural accommodation, together with an event venue with capacity for around 250 people. The intervention is based on the utmost respect for the original volume, the reading of the old walls and the constructive identity of the complex. The existing structures are consolidated, the façades are restored and the interiors are updated without altering the inherited spatial logic. The aim is to preserve the essence of the farmhouse and give it new uses with a contemporary sensitivity that engages with the existing architecture.

The interiors are reorganised to accommodate bedrooms, communal rooms, a professional kitchen and different areas linked to both the accommodation and the events. Traditional materials, based on stone, lime, ceramic and wood, act as the guiding thread of the project, reinforcing the continuity between the historic architecture and its new life. Respect for the old circulation routes, the recovery of original textures and the reinterpretation of rural spaces create a coherent and authentic atmosphere.

The exterior plays a fundamental role in the new identity of the complex. The large terrace in front of the farmhouse, the renewed gardens and the swimming pool area become the heart of the outdoor events. This space will be the central setting for celebrations, aperitifs, intimate concerts and social gatherings in the middle of nature, strengthening the connection between architecture, landscape and experience. The exterior intervention is completed with a car park integrated into the topography and a landscape impact study that organises access, vegetation and the relationship between the complex and its immediate surroundings.

Cal Bertranet is currently under construction. Very soon, this 18th-century complex will open its doors as a unique rural accommodation, where history, architecture and landscape will be experienced in a calm and authentic way. The project invites visitors to experience the farmhouse through its routes, natural light, the materiality of stone and the agricultural memory that remains in every corner. It is an intervention that deeply respects the existing heritage and updates the complex with contemporary sensitivity, ensuring that Cal Bertranet remains alive and in use for many generations to come.
